Target Audience
Internists, general and family practitioners, primary care professionals, and others involved in providing quality health care

Session Objectives
• Recognize the current state of diabetes in the United States
• Identify several disease states related to diabetes
• Discuss the current approach to the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes

Overall Series Objectives
• Review and apply updated recommendations on clinically relevant topics in primary and hospital care
• Utilize current clinical guidelines in the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases, prevention, and screening for medical conditions
• Use evidence-based guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of medical conditions
• Implement newly acquired knowledge in clinical medicine to thereby improve the quality of patient care and education
